CONANT-BALL HUTCH

Image
Would you mind taking a look at this buffet hutch I have. I'm trying to sell it and would like to know what you think it's worth. You mention that this was designed by Russel Wright, but, unfortunately it was not. This is a common mistake. Wright designed furniture for Conant-Ball from 1935-1939 under the American Modern Line and those pieces were marked with his name. Conant-Ball continued to produce furniture under the American Modern Line after Wright's contract expired, but, it was not designed by Wright. Your hutch appears to be a late 1940's-1950's piece in a colonial style (Wright's style was considered modern). It is pretty much only the modern styled furniture that is sought by collectors. That being said, I would estimate the hutch to bring $125-200 at auction and perhaps be priced around $350 in a retail outlet. Image on the right is the correct Russel Wright design mark.
