EDISON AMBEROLA CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH - MODEL A TYPE SM - MAHOGANY CABINET
I have this Edison Amberola Model A - Type SM - Cylinder Phonograph in a Mahogany Cabinet with 4 drawers below that I wish to sell. Do you have an idea of pricing/value? Serial number is 1746. You have what appears to be a beautiful Phonograph which was made by Edison from c1910-1914. Your fairly low serial number would put it earlier in that date range. Kovels lists this machine for $2,655 in their 2015 edition (condition unknown). Stanton's Auctions sold one (I did not see picture) for $4,950 at their 2014 Musical Machines Auction. Donley Auction Services also sold one in 2014 for $1,900 that needed extensive cabinet restoration. Oak cabinets carry more of a premium. I would say that value for a Mahogany 1A in the condition yours is in would have to start around the $5,000 range that was realized at the Stanton auction. There are many variables that can effect value and more sell prices would make me more comfortable in establishing a range. THE PERSON WHO CONTACTED
