Bohemian Crystal Decanter Set

Image
Could you please give us an appraisal on this decanter set? Post WWII Bohemian Crystal Decanter Sets with hand painted enamel decoration are very reasonable in price. This set with the 8 matching glasses would max out at $150. A realistic price would be a bit under $100.

CONANT-BALL HUTCH

Image
Would you mind taking a look at this buffet hutch I have. I'm trying to sell it and would like to know what you think it's worth. You mention that this was designed by Russel Wright, but, unfortunately it was not. This is a common mistake. Wright designed furniture for Conant-Ball from 1935-1939 under the American Modern Line and those pieces were marked with his name. Conant-Ball continued to produce furniture under the American Modern Line after Wright's contract expired, but, it was not designed by Wright. Your hutch appears to be a late 1940's-1950's piece in a colonial style (Wright's style was considered modern). It is pretty much only the modern styled furniture that is sought by collectors. That being said, I would estimate the hutch to bring $125-200 at auction and perhaps be priced around $350 in a retail outlet. Image on the right is the correct Russel Wright design mark.

WILLIAMSPORT FURNTURE CO CHIFFEROBE

Image
I purchased this piece of furniture made by The Williamsport Furniture Co for $300. When I took it in for a small repair, I was told that it might be quite valuable and that the interior is mahogany and the exterior is walnut. I am wondering whether I should keep it or sell it? You have an Art Deco Chifferobe made c1930's. It appears to be in really nice condition. If this was in an Antique Mall I could see a dealer asking up to $495. At auction, it would likely bring $100-$250. I think you paid a fair price and should keep and appreciate it in your home. I do not see this as an investment piece of furniture.

Slag Glass Lamp

Image
Can you give me any information on this lamp. I appreciate any help you offer. Slag Glass Lamps can be difficult to identify if there are no manufacturer marks. There is an almost endless variety of shade variations. I found 3 identical shades that have come up for auction. All 3 have the same base, which is NOT the base in the photo you provided. So, it is possible that you have a marriage of a base with a shade. The lamps varied in price at auction from $175-275.

New Jersey Central RR - Sandy Hook Route - Dinner Plate

Image
Driving through Pennsylvania this month on vacation, I picked up this nice plate from a small town Antique Mall. It is a 10.5" souvenir service plate from The New Jersey Central Railroad. The center of the plate depicts New York Harbor. Around the inside perimeter it depicts all the steamships in approximate order of decommission from the NJC. Kill Von Kull, Long Branch, Jesse Hoyt, Empire State, St. Johns, Ashbury Park, Monmouth and Sandy Hook. The outer perimeter lists the various stops that existed along the route: Atlantic Highlands, Keansburg, Keyport, Sea Bright, Long Branch, Elberon, Allenhurst, Ashbury Park, Belmar, Spring Lake and Point Pleasant. The "Sandy Hook Route" as it became to be known, began in 1892 and was a trip between 2 points in New York across New York Harbor to the Atlantic Highlands, a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The last run was in 1941. The plate was made by Scammell China Company out of Trenton, NJ (1924-1954), a known maker...

L B * S Hallmark on Mother of Pearl Knife Set

Image
Can you please identify the hallmark on a Mother of Pearl Handled Knife Set that I recently purchased at an auction? This set was made by Levesley Brothers of Sheffield England. The EP mark at the end stands for Electroplate.

Westinghouse Roaster Oven on Stand

Image
This Westinghouse Roaster was my Mothers. Is it worth selling? You have a model RO-91 Westinghouse Roaster Oven with stand and optional clock. It was made c1949-1953. It appears to be in fairly clean condition and these are becoming quite popular for retro kitchen decoration and use. On E-bay they can command anywhere from $50-150 in Near Mint condition. Any rusting or moderate+ surface wear/damage drastically reduces value. They were quite popular, so, they are not rare and need to be in top condition to achieve the price range aforementioned.
